A weekend of rest and cleaning
It’s past 8 o’clock this Sunday evening, and I’m propped up in bed, thinking of resting early and concluding my weekend with a precise sleeping time.
After last week’s hectic events, I decided to stay home and center myself by dedicating a full day for rest and unwinding, and a full day for cleaning and chores. I’m happy to say that I’ve successfully accomplished both.
It’s been a while since I’ve set a schedule for alone time during weekends. My family and I have been out and about these past couple of weeks. As a deeply introverted person, I needed time to be alone with my thoughts, preferably in silence or without many sensorial distractions.
Yesterday, I started binge-watching Culinary Class Wars. This show was riveting and addicting, and I devoured 10 episodes in less than 24 hours. The show was a perfect balance of reality TV, partly because it's not American reality TV.
It's competitive, but also immersive which makes for a juicy show that's great for relaxing. It was a welcome distraction to my usual responsibilities and I was never alone with my racing thoughts for a whole day. I’m slightly unhappy about the ending of the show, though, but it was good enough not to be a “regret watch.”
Today, I swept and mopped my room after not doing so for quite some time. I also cleaned my bathroom which was a mess last week. I also got to spend more time with my cats, playing and tidying them up. Ming-ming is still chirpy as a 6-year-old, and Felix is turning into a raging teenage cat.
I’ll be taking him to the vet tomorrow because he's been limping since yesterday. His left front leg doesn't move normally, and I honestly don't know why. A fight? An ambitious jump from a wall? Seriously, orange (and male) cats are an unpredictable bunch to have.
To commemorate last week’s events, here are some random snippets (I can finally post them here 😏)
Cats for adoption from last week's mall adoption drive and World Animal Day event - Kenma, Ponkan, and Kiat-kiat. The last two are brother and sister
Iconic cat socks I bought that look exactly like Ming-ming. Budol is real
Made brownies before my aunt left for an overseas vacation and for her pre-birthday celebration. Used Ghirardelli chocolates as choco chips finally!
